Eyebrow care: tint, shape and keep brows looking natural

A gentle routine for fuller-looking brows, plus how to apply brow tint so it never looks drawn on.
Choose a shade one step lighter
Brow products should sit one shade lighter than your hair for dark hair, and one shade deeper for blonde or light brown hair. Ash tones suit cool colouring, warm browns suit golden colouring.
If you're between shades, blend two: a lighter base at the front, a slightly deeper tone through the tail.
Apply in feather strokes, then wait
Distribute a small amount on the back of your hand first — pigmented gels grab fast. Draw short upward strokes that mimic hair growth, starting at the arch and working outwards, then softening the front last.
Colour keeps developing for a few seconds, so pause before adding a second layer. Once it dries, it sets and won't move.
Keep the hairs healthy
Brush brows daily with a spoolie to stop breakage at the arch. Remove tint with an oil or micellar cleanser rather than scrubbing — friction is what thins brows over time.
Give the shape four to six weeks between tidy-ups so sparse patches have time to fill in naturally.
