Blush Placement for Every Face Shape

Where to put colour to lift, soften or sculpt — with matte and cream finishes.

Round faces
Place colour slightly higher than the apples and sweep up toward the temple. The diagonal lift creates length.
Long or oval faces
Keep blush horizontal across the cheeks and out toward the ears. Avoid dragging colour upward, which stretches the face further.
Heart-shaped faces
Concentrate colour on the outer cheek and blend inward with almost nothing left on the brush by the time you reach the nose.
Square faces
Round the placement — a soft C from the cheekbone up to the temple takes the edge off a strong jaw.
Matte or cream?
Cream blush melts into skin and reads like a flush, which suits dry or mature skin. Matte powder gives a cleaner edge and better staying power in heat. Layering cream first and dusting matte on top is how you get both.
